Victor M. Melendez

Victor M. Melendez, 75, of Bartonsville, Pennsylvania died Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown.  He was the loving husband of Diane Melendez with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.  Born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Saturnino and Regina Melendez.

Victor worked as a MTA bus driver in New York City prior to retiring. He enjoyed travelling with his wife RVing to many places together. He was very active and participated in several activities including pickleball, basketball, paddleball and riding his motorcycle. Victor enjoyed all types of music, listening to smooth jazz while on long drives, but salsa music was his favorite. Victor especially appreciated annual family reunions to spend time with those he loved. He was a loving husband and father and his presence will be missed by all.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Aines Melendez-Cates; Vaughn Melendez and his wife, Heliana; Robert V. Melendez and his wife, Kaylee; siblings: Olga Rivera and her husband, Carlos; Hector Melendez and his wife, Antonia; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
