Valarie Bouey-Thomas

Valarie Bouey Thomas, 69, of Bushkill, died Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital – Monroe in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania.  She was the loving wife of the late Ernest Thomas with whom she shared 29 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2019. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Lizzie (Brown) Bouey.

Valarie worked for the New York Department of Mental Hygiene for 35 years caring for mentally disabled adults.  A true woman of Christ, she was a member of the Faith International Church.  She was the life of any party and loved to dance and travel enjoying all of life’s experiences.  Valarie was outspoken and opinionated, ready to give you her unbiased advice. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.  All who knew her couldn’t help but love her. 

Left to cherish her memory are her son James Bouey of Bayside, New York; daughter Tatum Lewis-Jackson and her husband, Daryl, of Bronx, New York; grandchildren Noah and Niyah Bouey; siblings: Johnnie Mae Avery of Atlanta, Georgia; Belton Bouey of East Elmhurst, New York; Betty Powell of Flushing, New York; Shirley Fields of Bronx, New York and a host of family, extended family, friends, and co-workers.

There will be no services at this time.  Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
