Thomas "Tom" D. Llewellyn Sr., 81, of Cresco passed away on Thursday June 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Elfrieda (Homolka) Llewellyn with whom he had celebrated 61 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he the was the son of David and Vera Llewellyn.
Tom was residing in the Cresco area for the past seven years and prior to that of the Albrightsville, Pennsylvania area. He was employed as a deputy sheriff with the Bucks County Sheriff's office and later as a correctional officer for Monroe county after serving in the United States Marine Corps. Tom was also a successful business entrepreneur and worked as a security consultant for private security firms prior to retiring due to health issues. In 1984, Tom was part of a conservation effort to bring five black Rhinos from South Africa to Texas which were the first Rhinos to be brought to Texas.
In addition to his wife Elfrieda he is survived by his children: Lisa M. Harris husband Arthur of Cresco, Thomas Llewellyn Jr. wife Donna of Destin, FL., 8 grandchildren: Megan Balmoos (Bobby), Arthur F. Harris Jr.(Nicole), Ashley Nagy(Bobby), Douglas J. Harris (Marlene), Macayla Llewellyn fiancé Jacob, Devon S. Harris(Kelsey), Katelyn Llewellyn fiancé Noah, and Sarah Harrison, and 7 great grandchildren; Isabella Harris, Hailey Harris, Silvia Harris, Arthur Harris III, Willow Brown, Olivia Nagy and Elaina Nagy. and a sister Margaret (Peg) Coyne as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family and lifelong friends. Tom was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Joann Llewellyn.
Funeral services will be held on Monday June 9, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Private cremation will follow the services. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home.
