Thomas Gates Obituary

Thomas P. Gates 81 of East Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Tuesday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, New York he was the son of Harold and Violet (Flynn) Gates. Tom was a resident of the E. Stroudsburg area for the past 3 years and he was of the catholic faith.

He was a New York City Fireman at the Uniform Fire Fighters Association Local # 94 Sergeant at Arms for 16 years and prior to that he was New York City Police Officer for the Housing Authority for 4 years. Tom was also an Army Vietnam Veteran.

He is survived by a son Harold H. Gates of Staten Island, N.Y. and a daughter Stephanie Dunstone of Greenfield Twp, Pa., 2 grandchildren: Joseph and Michael Dunstone, a sister Carolann Butch of E. Stroudsburg, Pa. and 3 brothers: Harold Gates wife Mary of Holbrook, N.Y., William Gates of Columbia, N.J. and Robert Gates wife Carol of Franklin Sq., N.Y. and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation services were provided by the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th.St.Strousburg, Pa. 18360
