Theodore Daniel Kaufman 80 of Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Friday Aug. 27, 2021 in the Whitestone Health Care Center. Teddy was born on Dec. 13, 1940 in Stroudsburg, PA to Theodore A. and Margaret (Brace) Kaufman. Teddy attended St. Mathew’s School and Stroudsburg High School. He lived the majority of his life in the home at 1197 West Main Street. Teddy worked at his father’s optical ship, Monroe Optical in East Stroudsburg as a teenager, the Pocono Foundry as an adult, and Weis Markets in later years. Teddy was an avid stamp and coin collector with extensive knowledge of both. He rode his bicycle or walked to wherever he was working throughout his life. He enjoyed antique shows, flea markets, fishing, and hunting. Teddy loved to tease everyone and laugh heartily.
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Jane, and niece Susan Setzer. He is survived by his devoted sister Dorothy, brother: Edward, and Ed’s wife, Linda. Teddy was a beloved uncle to Pamela Haydt, Melissa Palmer, Julie Anderson, and Daniel Kaufman, and a great uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Teddy was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a long-standing, faithful member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday Sept. 1, 2021 at 12:00noon from St. Luke’s Catholic Church 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360 with Fr. Michael F. Quinnan as celebrant. Burial will be in the Old St. Matthews Cemetery East Stroudsburg, Pa. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of the mass at the church. Memorial donations can be made to the church in Teddy’s memory.
