Teresa Crompton

Teresa Crompton, 85, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Spring Village in East Stroudsburg, surrounded by the love of her family.

Teresa was the loving wife of James H. Crompton, Sr., with whom she would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on September 8th. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy Mazzeo.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; her brother, Michael J. Mazzeo; her loving children, Michele, Jim Jr., and Dorothy Crompton; and her two cherished granddaughters, Lydia
and Haley Crompton.

Teresa had resided in the East Stroudsburg area since 1983. Prior to making the Poconos her permanent home, she and her family enjoyed a summer residence in Winona Lakes, Pennsylvania, while living in Brooklyn, New York.

Teresa was President of Crompton’s Menswear in East Stroudsburg, a family business she and her husband, Jim, established in 1979. Together, they built not only a successful family business, but also lasting friendships and strong ties throughout the community.

Throughout her life, Teresa was a devoted member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she generously gave her time to the parish, serving as a
Eucharistic Minister and chairing the Bereavement Committee.

Earlier in her life, Teresa worked in a clerical position on Wall Street in New York City. While raising her family, she was actively involved in her children’s schools and Parent Teacher Associations, always giving her time and energy to the people and causes that mattered to her.

Above all, Teresa was devoted to her family. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, was an active member of her Financial Ladies Club, Bridge Club, and loved traveling the world with Jim. She treasured time spent with family and friends and will be remembered by so many for her beautiful smile, warm personality, and genuine friendliness.

Teresa was also an exceptional cook and will be especially remembered for her famous lasagna and meatball dinners, which brought family and friends together around her table for many years.

Teresa lived a full and wonderful life filled with family, faith, friendship, and love. She touched the lives of countless people and will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N. 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 78 Ridgeway Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Cremation will
follow the Mass.
