Sylvia Marie Johnson

Sylvia Marie Johnson, 97, of Bartonsville, Pa. died Monday, July 17, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bartonsville.  She was the wife of the late Dockhaven D. Johnson, Sr. 

Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (VanWhy) Williams.

Sylvia lived to take care of her family and was a devoted mother to her children.

She is survived by her children: Donna Marie Johnson Davis of Bartonsville; Dockhaven Johnson, Jr and his wife, Sarah, of Henryville; George T. Johnson and his wife Diane of Stroudsburg, Pa.  David Hawkmore Johnson and his wife, Charlotte, of East Stroudsburg; Patricia Lynn McKnight of Columbia, S. C.; 20 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara and her siblings: Florence, Freda, Betty, Pauline, and Simon; son-in-law Raymond McKnight; grandsons Thomas McKnight and William DT Davis.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 11:00am in the Sand Hill Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
