Shirley J. Ross

Shirley J. Ross, 88, of Bangor died Friday, April 15, 2022 at her home.  She was the loving wife of the late Herbert Ross with whom she shared 54 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2005.

Born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Ulmer) Yahraes.

Shirley graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1951, she later worked as a bookkeeper for Joseph C. Reagle Auto Dealer for 26 years prior to retiring.  She was crafty and enjoyed painting, coloring, or creating floral arrangements. Shirley could often be found enjoying a good book or piecing together a challenging puzzle.

Shirley is survived by her daughter; Kathy Hoskin and her husband, Nelson, of Bangor; sons: Jeffrey Ross of Nanticoke; Raymond Ross of Sunbury, North Carolina; grandchildren: Lori Adams, Crystal Cunningham, Felicia Ross, Jamie Flyte, Rachel Rose, Nicholas Ross, and Raymond Ross, Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Yahraes.

There will be no services at this time.  Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Service.
