Ruth Elizabeth Wilkins-Wilson was born August 29, 1937, to Annie Hunt and Lonnie Wilkins in Greenville, NC, she was one of 10 children. Ruth was 87 years old when God called her home.
Ruth had a loving, generous spirit. She was a Christian with deep faith and was always reading her bible. Ruth came to New York as a young woman with big dreams of a better life and even better opportunities. She worked in Manhattan as a nanny for a few years before moving on to The New York City Law Dept. Ruth retired after 35 years of service.
Ruth married and gave birth to 3 beautiful daughters, Pamela, Angela and Lisa Raye. Ruth is survived by 3 grandchildren: Derek, Kristin and Amber Cori. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren: Aliyah, Jada, DJ, Madison, Amelia, Max and Kyle Jr.
Ruth was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Herbert J. James, William E. Wilkins and George James Jr., 4 sisters: Jennie White Menter, Nell Wilson, Barbara Wilkins and Tyree Wilkins, 1 daughter, Lisa Raye and son-in-law, Alton Garland.
Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory, 1 sister, Edna Holiday of Atlanta, GA and 1 brother, Clifton Wilkins of Greenville, NC. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who are not named, but much loved.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 21, 2025, at 2:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow the services.
