Robert H. McNear

Robert H. McNear, 67, of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital–Monroe in Bartonsville. He was the beloved husband of Linda McNear, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Morristown, New Jersey, Robert was the son of the late Ruth Morrison.

Robert had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a devoted sports fan, faithfully cheering for the New York Mets, New York Rangers, and Minnesota Vikings. He also had a special affection for dogs and cherished his beloved pups. Above all else, Robert treasured his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Robert is survived by his daughter, Jenise McNear of Saylorsburg, PA; his stepsons, Jason Skidmore and his wife, Jessica, of Nazareth, PA, and Robert Skidmore and his wife, Corinne, of Fort Meade, MD; his grandchildren, Aiden and Riley Skidmore, Jadyn Mazuk, and Darien, Emma, Maverick, and Evelyn Skidmore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Effort United Methodist Church, 178 Merwinsburg Road, Effort, PA 18330. Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
