Richard L. Pollaro, 76, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at his home. He was the loving husband of Phyllis Pollaro with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the youngest of five children to Vincent and Lucy Pollaro.
Richard proudly served our country in the United States Army. Later, he worked for Coca Cola where he owned and serviced his route. After “retiring” from there, he assisted his son, Richard, Jr. with his snack and beverage vending operation. He also worked as a flagger until he retired. Richard was a good man who was loved by all who knew him. He was a hard worker throughout his life and took great care of his family. Family came first all the time to Richard, and he cared for his wife dearly. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, helping others, and attempting to learn how to operate his cell phone. In his younger days, he liked to visit Atlantic City. Most recently, he appreciated mowing his lawn to relax.
Along with his wife, Richard is survived by his son; Vincent V. Pollaro and his wife, Lee, of Wellsboro; grandchildren: Ethan, Amelia, Victoria, Richard; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his siblings and son Richard, Jr.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1 – 3 PM and 5 – 7 PM with a funeral service taking place at 6 PM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Private cremation will follow.
