Peter J. Kelmelis

Peter J. Kelmelis, 87, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was the loving husband of Violet (Pantalone) Kelmelis with whom he had celebrated 65 years of marriage. Born in Mt. Carmel, Pa. he was the son of Peter and Victoria (Lapinski) Kelmelis.

  Peter was residing in the Stroudsburg area for the past 34 years and prior to that of the Paterson, N.J. area. He was employed as a bus driver with the New Jersey Transit Co, for 25 years. Peter was of the catholic faith and an army veteran.

  In addition to his wife Violet, he is survived by a son Peter M. Kelmelis and his wife Maria of Vernon, N.J.  and a daughter Victoria (Vicky) Mangarell of Stroudsburg and 4 grandchildren: Steven, Kimberly, Jessica and Angelia.

   A Catholic prayer service will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025, at 10:30am at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360 Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Saturday May 3, 2025, from 9:30am until the time of the services at the funeral home.
