Oscar J. Woerlein

Oscar J. Woerlein, 86, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at The Gardens at Stroud in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Rita Woerlein with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.  Oscar was born in Manheim, Germany and came to the United States when he was a child.  

He was a very patriotic and proud veteran having served in the Army National Guard.  Oscar enjoyed working with his hands. He loved working in his garden and was always building things.  He was an avid reader and philatelist with an extensive stamp collection.  Oscar loved all animals and enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Rita.  More than anything, Oscar was a good family man.

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter, Diane Montaruli and her husband, Anthony, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday June  21, 2024 at 11:00am at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 5171 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa 18302. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street., Stroudsburg, Pa 18360.
