Mira Borys, 90, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday April 23, 2026, at Grace Park Senior Living in Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of Eugene Borys with whom she recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine Mira was the daughter of Walter and Natalie Kostyniuk.
Mira immigrated to the United States in 1952 and became a US citizen in 1957. She attended the St. George Ukrainian Church in New York City. After raising her family she worked at the Chase Business Banking Center in the Flatiron Building in Manhattan. Upon retirement, she worked at the New York Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was a member. An avid gardener, Mira created a beautiful backyard oasis at the family home in Brooklyn. After living for over seventy years in New York City, she and her husband moved to the Stroudsburg area a few years ago.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her children: Andrij Borys and his wife, Clara Favale; Irena Petsche and her husband, Thomas; grandchildren: Ethan Borys; Karen Darger and her husband, Bryan; Jennifer Connell and her husband, Patrick; and great-grandchildren: Lucas and Mackenzie Connell.
Personal services will be held for the family. Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
