Mildred “Shannon” Yau, 66, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Thomas Yau Sr., who passed away on January 13, 2018. Born in Cobleskill, New York, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Gladys Kendle.
Shannon moved to the Pocono area in 1993 where she started her business and worked as a professional cleaner in the area. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and hanging out with loved ones.
Shannon is survived by her children: Jennifer Floyd and her husband, Kenneth; Christopher Yau; grandchildren: Jaslyn; Kayden; Jayce; siblings: Samuel Kendle, Jr. and his wife, Vickie; Edward Kendle, Sr. and his wife, Rosemary; Margaret Edwards; Nancy Wright; Catherine Kendle; William Kendle; Dora Lawrence and her husband, Lyle. She was preceded in death by her son: Thomas Yau and brother: John Kendle.
There will be no services. Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
