Melissa M. Locricchio

Melissa “Missy” M. Locricchio, 42, of East Stroudsburg, died Friday, May 12, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bartonsville with her family by her side.  She was the loving wife of Sigmund “Sig” Markowski with whom she shared 7 years of marriage.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of Siobhan Donegan of East Stroudsburg and the late Frank Stang.

Missy worked as a TSA agent in Florida and Hawaii, she later went on to work as a banker at both MBT bank and ESSA and afterwards as a bank manager. Her compassion and desire to assist people led her to her true calling and she worked as a home health aide for many years.  Missy enjoyed working with children and volunteered with the East Stroudsburg Youth Association (ESYA) as an assistant football coach despite her limited knowledge of the sport.  She enjoyed cooking and would cook for anyone for any reason.  Whether you were celebrating, mourning, or hurting, she would show up with a comfort meal.  Her genuine caring nature was felt by all who knew her.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her sons: Nicholas and Jacob Markowski; mother Siobhan Donegan and her partner Gary Peters; sister Kristen Thompson and her husband, David, niece Emily Thompson; nephew Shane Thompson; best friend Nicola Gonella; and her beloved dog Bruno, all of East Stroudsburg.

There will be a blessing service on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 7:30 pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.  Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Helping Hands Food Pantry, c/o Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church, 915 N 5th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
