Matilda Kiss, 88, of Long Pond, Pennsylvania died Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Monroe in Bartonsville. She was the widow of the late Nandor Kiss. Born in Hungary, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Politzi.
Matilda came to the United States in 1957 where she settled and began her family. She worked in production for Calgon /Merck Co. in Morrisville, Pennsylvania for many years until they closed, and she retired. She was a longtime resident of Levittown, Pennsylvania where she lived for 50 years before moving to Long Pond. Matilda was devoted to her family and treasured her time with them, taking great pride in baking and cooking for them. She could often be found taking her chances at the casinos; playing BINGO; or just enjoying table or card games.
She is survived by her daughters: Elvira “Vera” Kiss; Maria Kiss; Liz Dudek (Andy); grandchildren: Jenna (Alex); Robert (Kelly); Danny (Amanda); Marissa; Alex; BreAnna; Jessica and her fiancé, Cris; Kyle (Nicole); CJ; great grandchildren: Kylie; Arianna; Blake; Aubrey; Juliette; Lucas; Luca; her sister, Elvira; cousin Rita Czinke Kovacs and extended family members in Hungary. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Arielle.
There will be no services at this time. Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
