Mary T. Galayda

Mary T. Galayda, 69, of Bushkill, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025. She was the loving wife of Joseph Galayda with whom she had celebrated 43 years of marriage. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was residing in the Bushkill area for 40 years.

 In her early years, Mary worked as an accountant and later as a special education teacher at the East Stroudsburg North High School for several years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Bushkill, Pennsylvania.

 In addition to her husband Joe, she is survived by two daughters: Mary Elizabeth Galayda of Bethlehem, PA; Katherine Galayda of Ankeny, IA; two step-sons: James Galayda and his wife Suzanne of Long Valley, NJ; James Galayda of Belvidere, NJ,  five grandchildren: Thomas, Stephanie, Andrew, Kaylee and Jeb; sister Karen Dezio and a bother Clifford McNally.

 There will be a Memorial Mass on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 11:00AM at The Church of St. John 5171 Milford Rd. E. Stroudsburg, PA 18302 with Fr. Gregory A. Reichlen as celebrant. Burial of her ashes will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery Bushkill, PA. The Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360 is in charge of the arrangements.
