Mary Louise Dempsey, 80, of East Stroudsburg, PA passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was the wife of Leonard J. Dempsey, with whom she spent 56 years of marriage. Mary was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
Mary was of the Catholic faith and a member of Saint Matthews. She attended East Stroudsburg University where she graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management. Mary later went on to work at ESU for 25 years.
In addition to her husband, Leonard, Mary Louise is survived by her children; Kerry L. Dempsey, Patrick T. Dempsey, Kathy Dempsey, and Michael L. Dempsey, along with 8 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her children; Kelly Ann Dempsey and John Dempsey.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 4-6pm at Joseph J Pula Funeral Home, Inc. 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. A prayer service will follow at 6pm.
