Marion Hess Ramsey, 93, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Friday, July 28, 2023 at Country Meadows in Easton, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Ramsey and Rev. Albert Miller. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Hendrikson) Hess.
Marion graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of nursing, held a BSN from Wheaton College and a MA in Medical/Surgical Nursing Administration from NYU. She served as Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services at New Milford Hospital in New Milford, Connecticut and as the Director of School of Nursing Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. Marion also served as Deacon at Congregational Church in Brookfield, Connecticut where, along with her late husband Rev. Albert Miller worked to establish the Stephen Ministry Program as well as help with the Church Growth Committee. Her ease of engaging people in conversation helped her to continue to be a resource for the church and as a confirmation mentor. She held bible studies and started a prayer circle at Welsey Village.
She enjoyed many years summering in Ocean Grove, New Jersey with her husband. She was a member of the Ocean Grove Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed many activities that were offered throughout the summer. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Marion is survived by her stepson; Timothy Miller (Hawley); stepdaughter Lauren Pappas (MaryBeth); grandchildren: Kaitlin, Paige, Pierce Miller, Kyle Pappas (Amanda), Zachary Pappas (Deborah) and great grandchildren Ady, Grayson, and Jaxson Pappas. Daughter in law; Barbara Ramsey, grandchildren: Brian Ramsey, Timothy Ramsey (Katie) and great grandchild Brayden; niece Robin Kunz; nephew Jay Hess; cousins: David Hess, Ruth Ann Gullaksen, David Mearns, Dwight Mearns, Brad Hess, Betty Jean Townsend, and Lillian Leigh Seibert, Godchildren Christopher, Robert, and Sarah Quale as well as dear friends Diane Henry (Ed) and Alwyn Carty (Laura). She was preceded in death by her husbands and great granddaughter Sophia Grace Ramsey.
A memorial service will take place at Bishop Janes Tabernacle, 27 Front Street, Ocean Grove, NJ on August 24, 2023 at 2:00 pm. An additional memorial service will take place at the Congregations Church of Brookfiled, 160 Whisconier Road, Brookfield, CT at a later date.

Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
