Maria Luz Ventura

   Maria Luz Ventura, 72, of Stroudsburg, PA passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. She was the wife of Juan M. Ventura. Born in Lima, Peru she was the daughter of Encarnacion Yesquen of Peru and the late Julio Garay. Maria was residing in the Stroudsburg area for the past 21 years.

  While residing in Peru she worked as a secretary and taught for many years. Later when she came to America, she worked as a baker. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg, PA.

  In addition to her husband Juan, she is survived by a daughter Kathya Ventura and her husband Manny of Easton, PA and a son Jaime Ventura and his wife Heydi of Stroudsburg, PA, and 3 grandchildren: Aleyla, Han-Su and Haylee.

  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 9, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 78 Ridgeway St. East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 6-8:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
