Maria Estrada

Maria Estrada, 97, of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania died Sunday, March 30, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.  She was the widow of the late Emilio Quinteros with whom she shared over 66 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2018.  Born in Pachalum Guiche, Guatemala, she was a daughter of the late Demetrio and Maria Estrada.

Maria dedicated her life to taking care of others.  She was a doting wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a very generous woman. For many years, she would gather food and clothing to send to orphanages in Guatemala. She took comfort in visiting the sick and serving her church.

Maria is survived by her children: Cesar Peña and his wife, Irma; Rosie Hernandez and her husband, Marcos; Senia Romero and her husband, Jose; Noemi Ordonez and her husband, Edwin; Emilio Quinteros and his wife, Marisela; Edgar Estrada and his wife Desiree; many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as numerous beloved friends.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Family will receive friends from 9:00 am to the time of service.  Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
