Margherita Abbriano

Margherita Abbriano, 82, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Monday, October 16, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono in East Stroudsburg.  She was the loving wife of Dominic Abbriano with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.  Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Helen (Ferrara) Gibaldi.

Margherita lived in Lake Grove, Long Island prior to moving to Stroudsburg in 2020.  She worked as a bookkeeper, and later as a teacher’s assistant in Brooklyn.  She then went on to become an assistant in running several bus companies in the Brooklyn school system.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her sons: Frank Abbriano and his wife, Donna; Salvatore Abbriano and his wife, Susan; grandchildren: Nicolette, Gabrielle, Frankie, Krista, Courtney, Joseph, Kaylee, and Jack; Nieces: Elisa Ingrassia; Elena Vaccola; and Dawn Marie Gizzo.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Joann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Church of St. Luke, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360, with Father Michael Quinan presiding.  There will be a viewing on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc. 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
