Louise Jean Hudak 91 of Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Sunday May 9, 2021 in the Pleasant Valley Manor Snydersville, Pa. She was the loving wife of Edward J. Hudak who died in 2019. Born in Blakely, Pa. she was the daughter of John and Ethel (Kovatch) Konkol.
In her early years Louise worked as a sales clerk at the former Wyckoff’s and later Routzen’s Department store in Stroudsburg until their closing. She then became manager in the ladies department at the Sear’s department store in the Stroud Mall until her retirement.
Louise was a lifelong resident of the Stroudsburg area and was a very active member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Stroudsburg where she was a member of the ladies guild for many years. Louise was also very active with the Junior Women’s Club of Stroudsburg and she was a poll worker at elections for Stroud Township for many years.
She is survived by 2 sons: Edward A. Hudak of Bartonsville, Pa. and Thomas G. Hudak and his wife Pam of East Stroudsburg, Pa. and a granddaughter Ariel E. Hudak of Orlando, Fl., her sister – in –law Delores Martinelli of Olyphant, Pa. and serval nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Donald and John Konkol.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday May 14, 2021 at 11:00am from St. Luke’s Catholic Church 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, Pa. with Fr. Carmen Perry as celebrant. Cremation will follow the mass with burial of her ashes in Laurelwood Cemetery Stroudsburg, Pa. There will be no visitation.
