Elder Lonnie Shaw (AKA Brown), faithful servant of God, was called to rest on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home. Born on August 15, 1958, Lonnie attended Bulter High School in Hartsville, SC, then moved to Plainfield, NJ in 1981. There he worked as a machine operator, at Silvertrim in South Plainfield, NJ for 22 years. He also worked at Fischer Scientific as a machine operator until he retired in 2014 due to illness. He moved to Easton, PA in 2005 and later to East Stroudsburg, PA in 2018.
Lonnie was a loving husband, father and friend to all who knew him. He never failed to put his family first. He was known as a person who loved to praise the Lord and having a crazy praise. Lonnie was a peacemaker who displayed what I Corinthian 13 commands. He became a born-again Christian and left a great impact on others everywhere he went with his loving heart and wonderful since of humor.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Flora Shaw; son Lionel Shaw (Ruth) of Williamsport, PA; daughters: Sholonda Mundle (Howard) of Easton, PA; Marquita Shaw of Columbia, SC; Yvette Cain(Delmorris); two step children: Floresha Woodley, Jacksonville, FL; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers: Thomas Shaw Jr. of Hartsville, SC; Troy Shaw (Viola) of Timmonsville, SC; Wiliam Shaw of Seaside, CA; Billy Shaw (Shirley) of Fayetteville, NC; Odell Shaw (Elaine) of Newport News, VA; Larry Shaw (Lisa) of Nashville, TN; sisters: Peggy McLaurin of Vander, NC; Linda Shaw of Fayetteville, NC; Rachel Wright (Ulysses) of Hartsville, SC; uncle, Conley Shaw(Grace) of Darlington, SC; aunt, Hester Johnson (Robert) of New York, NY. and a host of dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Bishop Thomas S. Shaw and Jerotha Soles Shaw; brother Don Shaw; sisters: Frances Issac; Annie Ree Smith; and Photine Baldwin
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the High Point Baptist Church 1919 Mountain Rd. Plymouth, PA. 18651. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at the church. The Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360 is in charge of the arrangements.
