Julio Cesar Sanchez

Julio Cesar Sanchez Machado, 77, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania died Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono. He was the loving husband of Melida Sanchez with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Pelileo, Ecuador, he was a son of the late Octavio Sanchez and Rosa Irene Machado.

Julio was kind, hardworking, a great friend, and a wonderful husband, father and abuelo. Julio enjoyed watching his Ecuadorian soccer team play, loved to dance, loved playing his favorite card games, enjoyed family gatherings and friends, and always made everyone laugh, especially when he conducted the happy birthday song at every birthday party. Most of all, he enjoyed being surrounded by his children, grandkids, and wife.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Viviana Sanchez; Cecilia Rivera and her husband, Hiram Rivera, Jr.; Julio Sanchez, Jr. and his wife, Liangie; Stefanie Sanchez and her husband, Deven Griffin; grandchildren: Jailene, Brianna, Lyanna, Hiram, Eva, and Julius.

There will be a viewing on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew’s Parish, 78 Ridgeway Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association - Greater Pennsylvania Chapter.
