Joyce Fazekas (née Ostrander)
January 6, 1946 - September 12, 2025
Joyce Fazekas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, at the age of 79.
Born on January 6, 1946, in Bergenfield, New Jersey, Joyce lived a life centered around love, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. She was the cherished wife of John Fazekas and a proud and loving mother to Charlie Fischer (Rita), Sheri Caruso, Bret Fischer (Melanie), Ryan Fazekas, Nicole Ordonez (Charlie), and Johnny Fazekas (Autumn).
Joyce's greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her warm heart and generous spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a devoted grandmother to Alicia Cumpstone, Jimmy Sperry, Brandon Fischer, Sabrina Fischer, Cole Caruso, Monica Fischer, Olivia Ordonez, Fiona Fazekas, Elijah Ordonez, and Rowan Fazekas - and a proud great-grandmother to Colin Markey.
She is preceded in death by her son, Ryan Fazekas, brother, Richard Ostrander, and her parents Harold & Ann Ostrander.
Joyce was a faithful member of Bushkill Community Church, where she found strength, community, and spiritual comfort. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and her kindness and compassion reflected that deeply.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Joyce's life on October 4th Greetings:10:00am Service:11:00am at Bushkill Community Church, 5504 Bushkill Falls Road, Bushkill PA 18324. Following the service relatives and friends are also invited to the Pocono Mountain Estates Clubhouse, 2095 Milford Rd, Bushkill PA 18324.
The family finds comfort in these words:
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry;I am not there. I did not die.
