John Robert Vecchio

John Robert Vecchio, 27, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, John Robert was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend whose kind heart touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

From the time he was in preschool, family and friends affectionately knew him as "John Robert"- a name that stayed with him throughout his life. He attended East Stroudsburg South Senior High School, and Monroe Career & Technical Institute, where he studied Carpentry.

John Robert was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He began riding dirt bikes and quads at a young age, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. Gifted with an incredible mechanical ability, he could fix just about anything with a motor- from cars and dirt bikes to boats and small engines. Living on the river, he loved driving his boat, going fishing, and spending time in nature with his grandparents. He was an avid gun collector who loved country and rock music, and enjoyed watching cooking and food shows. Above all, John Robert treasured the time he spent with those he loved, finding his greatest happiness in life's simple moments.

John Robert is survived by his loving mother, Marguerite Vecchio, and her fiancé, Tim Freeman, of East Stroudsburg; his devoted sister, Tara Vecchio-Freeman, and her husband, Kyle, of East Stroudsburg; his beloved grandmother, Theresa "Terry" Vecchio, of East Stroudsburg; his faithful Basset Hound, Hazel; and his garage cat, Mr. Boots. John Robert was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph A. Vecchio Jr.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., located at 23 N 9th Street Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with Father Don Williams presiding. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the National Rifle Association.
