John R. Steinmetz, 65, of Stroudsburg passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in St. Luke’s Hospital-Monroe Campus. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ he was the son of the late Donald and Mary (Gallagher) Steinmetz. John was the husband of Laurel Lee Steinmetz, with whom he celebrated 10 years, and 9 months of marriage.
John worked in maintenance for the Phillipsburg House Authority, retiring in September of 2020. John loved spending time with his family, playing video games, and fishing. He could often be spotted out in the yard fixing something up or doing yard work.
In addition to his wife Laurel, John is survived by his children; Donald Steinmetz, Adina Lee Simmons, and Christopher Hodges, along with grandchildren; Shealyn Lee, Brendan Lee, Jocelyn Decker, Braedan Decker, Jesse Noaker, and AJ Campbell Hodges. He is also survived by his siblings; Chip Steinmetz, Diane Mecca, Dawne Raabe, and Ellie McKeaver.
Cremation will be private. The Joseph J Pula Funeral Home, Inc. 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 is assisting the family with arrangements.
