Obituary
John William Roggio, 98, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House in East Stroudsburg with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Soon (Chang) Roggio with whom he shared almost 50 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Martin and Matthie “Mary” (Bongard) Roggio.
John served our country in the Unites States Navy and later worked as a Merchant Marine. He enjoyed playing golf, handball, and going fishing. You could often find him trying his luck at the casinos. He and his wife would travel to Mississippi to reap the benefits of golfing during the day and playing at the casinos at night.
Along with his wife, John is survived by his sons: Raymond Brogan and Ross Roggio; grandchildren: Shane Brogan, DJ Brogan, Sarah Roggio, and Anna Roggio.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private cremation has been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
