Joan G. Perfetti

Joan G. Perfetti, 92, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Born in East Stroudsburg, Joan was the beloved widow of Eugene “Geno” Perfetti. They shared 48 years of marriage until his death in 2001. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, Joan was a devoted member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed a 30-year career with Bell Telephone, retiring in 1982.

She was the daughter of the late Leonard G. Griffin and Grace (Selwood) Griffin. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy and Jack Griffin.

Joan is survived by her two daughters, Victoria “Vickie” J. Perfetti of Stroudsburg and Linda Vashlishan and her husband Daniel of Henryville; her sister, Virginia “Cookie” Anglemyer of Stroudsburg; grandsons Matthew Vashlishan of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Tyler Chambers of Allentown, Pennsylvania; great-grandson Ocean Chambers; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Joan was an avid reader who loved playing cards and never missed the Little League World Series. She enjoyed traveling in her younger years and had a deep passion for giving back to her community. She volunteered with the Friends of the Eastern Monroe Public Library, was a proud Telephone Pioneer, and served as a volunteer and past board member of Meals on Wheels. She was also al member of the Women’s Aerie of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, and American Legion. Joan participated in numerous fundraisers, including those for Juvenile Diabetes, Joey’s Eagles, and the Pocono Wing-Off for Meals on Wheels, and she organized donations for Angels Closet.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 North 9th Street Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow in Stroudsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Joan’s memory be made to one of the following: Meals on Wheels on Monroe County, 901 Polk Valley Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or Angels Closet, P.O. Box 224, Marshalls Creek, PA 18335.
