Joan E. Morse

Joan Eleanor (Pellett) Morse, 91, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away at Spring Village at Pocono on Monday, August 26, 2024.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvan Morse, to whom she was married for 70 years.

Joan was born on September 24, 1932, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey to the late Sylvia (Vreeland) Conrad and the late Alan Pellett.  She was also the stepdaughter of the late Vernon Conrad.

She worked at the American Bible Society in Wayne, New Jersey before relocating to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, where she remained a resident for 34 years.

Joan enjoyed cooking for her family, watching birds in her front yard, spending time in her garden, and travelling the world with her husband.  Some of her favorite trips included Alaska, Hawaii, and Panama.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by her eldest son, Bruce Morse.

Joan is survived by two children: Lynn (Morse) Sentner of Cromwell, CT; Jay Morse and his wife, Vicky, of East Stroudsburg, PA; daughter-in-law, Jane Morse of West Milford, NJ; six grandchildren: Janelle Morse, Scott Morse and his wife, Ruisa; Suzanne Sentner, Kimberly (Sentner) Houston, and her husband, Allen; Jody Morse, Jayme Morse and her fiancé, Steve Irwin; three great-grandchildren: Imogen Houston, Sylvie Houston, and Olivia Irwin; and lifelong best friend Nancy Helms.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to the time of service.
