Joan F. Campbell of Palisades Park, NJ and Stroudsburg, PA passed on January 19th, 4 days shy of her 90th birthday. Joan was born in Brooklyn, NY to Leo and Margaret (Shaughnessy) DuVal. She is predeceased by her husband James who she was married to for 29 years.
Raised in the Catholic church, Joan found much comfort in her faith. She was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Michael’s Church in Palisades Park for over 50 years. During this time, Joan was president of the Mother’s Guild, member of the Rosary Society, the Bereavement Society, PTA, Carnival, and many other groups. Joan had a loving, kind heart and always wanted to help in any way she could.
For many years Joan worked at Palisades Park High School, and then Teledyne Farris from where she retired.
Joan is survived by her 2 daughters; Maureen Condur and her husband Michael of Stroudsburg, PA, and Maggie McMains and her husband Jim of Asheville, NC. 4 grandchildren; Ryan Campbell, Megan (Campbell) Lardieri, Stephen Condur and Daniel Condur, and 4 great grandchildren; Danielle, Grayson, Hailey and Joseph, who came a few weeks early to meet Gigi.
In Joan’s memory we ask that you be kind to one another, wear your mask and hug the ones you love.
Cremation will be private with a Catholic mass and internment at a future date.
