JoAnn R. Aragona 75, of Tannersville, Pa. passed away on Tuesday Dec. 26, 2023 after a long, valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She was the widow of Anthony J. Aragona who died in 2016. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Florian and Jean (Radzicka) Roslan.
JoAnn was a resident of the Tannersville area for the past 22 years and prior to that she resided in Sparta, N.J. She was employed as an administrative assistant for the United States Government for many years. JoAnn was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Tannersville, Pa and enjoyed participating in activities with her cherished Hallmark group. She loved her family, friends, and being a proud Pocono Mountain West Grandma.
JoAnn is survived by son James Aragona and wife Kara of Alpharetta, Ga., daughter Jeralyn Aragona-Young and her wife, Emily, of Blakeslee, Pa., grandtwins Leo and Mya Aragona-Young, sister Florence Jozwicki of Melbourne, Fl., and many nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her brother Frank.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday Jan. 4, 2024, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 327 Cherry Lane Road, Tannersville, PA, with Father Richard E. Czachor presiding. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the time of the services at church. To honor the exceptional care JoAnn received in her final days, memorial contributions may be made to Monroe County Hospice House 502 VNA Road, Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301.
