Jerome Michael DeKalb

Jerome “Jerry” Michael DeKalb, Jr., 55, of Stroudsburg, PA. passed away in the early morning on Saturday July 20, 2024. He was the loving husband of Sharon L. (Simpson) DeKalb with whom he had celebrated 26 years of marriage. Born in Somerset, NJ, he was a son of the late Jerome M. Sr. and Shirley DeKalb.

Jerry was a warehouse supervisor for many years. When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with his grandchildren running around or fishing, or he was cheering on the Yankees and the Jets.

In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived his children: April DeKalb and Shea Uchetel of Stroudsburg, PA., Jerome F. DeKalb and his wife, Elizabeth, of Stroudsburg, PA., Kaitlyn DeKalb and partner, Jonathan Collazo, of Blakeslee, PA., step-mother Nancy of Stroudsburg, PA and mother-in-law Dolores Payerl of Hopatcong, NJ.; sisters: Lauralee Beall of Virginia; Deborah Atchison of W. Long Branch, NJ; brother John W. DeKalb and his wife, Eva, of Stroudsburg, PA; four grandchildren: Anthony, Jordyn, Olivia and Aurora DeKalb; many nieces and nephews. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents: Jerome M DeKalb Sr. and Shirley DeKalb, siblings Jennifer and Norman DeKalb.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 5:00 PM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N. 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to the time of service. Private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1114 Heritage Dr, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 in Jerry’s memory.
