Jerome DeKalb Obituary

Jerome M. DeKalb Sr. 85 of Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Monday Sept. 7, 2021. He was the loving husband of Nancy E. (Serfass) DeKalb with whom he had celebrated 20 years of marriage. Born in Marion Heights, Pa. he was the son of Walter and Anna (Slaney) Kalbarchiek.

Jerry was a resident of the Stroudsburg area for the past 27 years and prior to that he resided in the Morris County, New Jersey area. He worked as a self-employed painter for many years and he was of the catholic faith. Jerry was also an Army veteran having served in the Korean War.

In addition to his wife Nancy he is survived by 2 sons: Jerome M. DeKalb Jr. and his wife Sharon of Stroudsburg, Pa. and John W. DeKalb and a daughter: Lauralee Beall of Virginia; step-daughter: Deborah Atchison of W. Long Branch, N.J., 5 grandchildren: April, Jerome and Kaitlyn DeKalb and Robert and Cynthia Atchison and 4 great grandchildren: Anthony, Jordyn, Oliva and Aurora DeKalb.

Jerry was preceded in death by twin daughters: Anna Allen and Jennifer DeKalb and a step-son Norman Hink.

Private cremation services were provided by the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th.St.Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360
