Janet M. Miller 86, of Swiftwater, Pa. passed away on Friday Aug. 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Richard G. Miller. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Felix and Helen (Fujarski) Federowicz. Janet was residing in the Swiftwater area for the past 44 years and prior to that she resided in the Centereach, L.I., N.Y. area.
In her early years Janet worked as a cashier at the Quik Shop in Mt. Pocono, then as a cook at St. Mary’s Villa and later she worked in the cafeteria at the Pocono Mountain East High School. Janet was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Stroudsburg for many years.
Janet is survived by her children: Denise Anderson (Robert) of Norristown, Pa., and Louanne Trobetsky (James) of Catasauqua, Pa. and Richard G. Miller Jr. (Candy) of Pittston, Pa. grandchildren: Amanda, Erika, Alyssa, Tyler, Kyle, Katie, Kevin, Kenny, and Kallie; her sisters: Marie Mattone (decd. Louis) and Deborah Zuk (John), 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her brothers: Frank and Ronald.
We all know that Janet (also lovingly known as mom, sister, Aunt Janet, GG, Grandma and friend) could be stubborn and strong-willed, but she was also the most caring, loving, kind person who loved her family fiercely and would do or give anything that they needed. She was independent, self sufficient and the toughest woman we all knew. She even hung out the window to fix her window flashing days before she fell ill and passed. Her love was her family, her fun was the casino and her pride was having the greenest grass in the neighborhood.
