Holly Sue Gay, 56, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, died Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Monroe in Stroudsburg after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving partner of Bill Thorn. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she was a daughter to the late Matthew Jackson and Sally Ann Gay.
Holly was a loving, compassionate woman with an infectious smile that she always wore, bringing joy and positivity to all she came in contact with. She enjoyed the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church, being very strong in her faith and her love for the Lord. During her illness, she never complained and was a true inspiration to everyone around her. She enjoyed making homemade greeting cards for family and friends. She enjoyed her retail work and being able to interact with customers, often developing friendships with them. Holly was also her mother’s caretaker during her mother's later years.
Holly is survived by her companion: Bill Thorn of Stroudsburg, PA; sisters: Margie Shirosky and her Husband , John of Norwood, MA; Ginger Myers and her husband, Peter, of Richmond, VA; along with many dear friends and family.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Joseph J.Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with burial following at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg. Family will receive friends from 9:00 am to the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
