Henry “Butch” C. Whitmore 73, of Sciota, Pa. passed away on Monday June 12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Carole G. (Bujdoso) Whitmore with whom he had celebrated 39 years of marriage. Born in Monmouth County, New Jersey he was the son of John Andrew and Lois (Nunn) Whitmore.
Butch was a resident of the Stroudsburg area for the past 32 years and prior to that he resided in the Parsippany, New Jersey area. In his early years he was a police officer for the Morristown Police Department in Morristown, N.J. and later worked as a photo tech for the Pennsylvania Driver’s License Department. He was an army veteran and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Brodheadsville, Pa.
In addition to his wife Carole, he is survived by two daughters Karen Pennington and her husband Eric of Florida, Rebecca (Becky) Dobrinsky and her husband Gary of Effort, Pa. and 3 sons: Keith Whitmore and his wife Diana of Florida, Brian Whitmore and Brandon M. Whitmore of Sciota, 7 grandchildren: Cooper, Konnor, Gary, Liviana, Luke, Blake, Aubrey and his siblings: Thomas Whitmore, John Whitmore Jr., William Whitmore, Kevin Whitmore, Sharon Whitmore, Patricia Maines and Darlene Desjadon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 20, 2023, at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 1402 US 209 Brodheadsville, Pa. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
There will be a visitation on Monday June 19, 2023, from 4-7:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360
