Giacomo “Jimmy” Bova, 90, of Stroudsburg and formerly of Mount Pocono died Tuesday, May 25, 2022, at Spring Village in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of the late Lucille Bova with whom he shared 39 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2003.
Born in Termini Imerese, Italy he was a son of the late Pasquale and Antonina (Re) Bova.
During his working career, Jimmy was a paper cutter for Cross Sinclair and later for Kase Paper Company. The youngest of nine children, he was very family oriented and enjoyed watching soccer games with his grandson, David. Whenever there was music, you were certain to see him dancing and being the life of the party at special occasions. He had a sarcastic charm to his humor and was the first to acknowledge just how good he looked for his age. Jimmy always allowed room for dessert so he could indulge in some ice cream, potato chips, or a cookie.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Antonina “Ann” Chirco and her husband, Louis, of Stroudsburg; grandchildren: Giacomo Bova, Pasquale Bova, David Chirco and his wife, Fernanda, and Victoria Chirco; brother Antonino Bova and his wife, Enza, of Brooklyn, NY and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Pasquale Bova.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 26 from 4:30 – 5:30 pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Reverend Father Michael Quinnan will perform a blessing service at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
