George VanGorder, Jr.

George W. VanGorder Jr., 75, of Stroudsburg, PA passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026. He was the loving husband of Susan (Lyon) VanGorder. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana he was the son of George W. and Virginia (Houck) VanGorder, Sr.

George was a lifelong resident of the Stroudsburg area. He was employed as a librarian at East Stroudsburg University for several years. George was an avid sports fan following the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and was a great supporter of the Stroudsburg Mountaineers. George enjoyed animals and loved his pets.

In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by three sons: Bradley VanGorder and Eric VanGorder both of Stroudsburg, PA and Daniel VanGorder and his wife Rosana of Middletown, New York, a sister Donna Healey and a brother Edward VanGorder. George was preceded in death by a brother Ronald VanGorder.

A Memorial service will be held on July 15, 2026, from 12:00-4:00pm at the Christian Life Assembly Church 2209 West Main St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Cremation services were provided by the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360
