George T. O’Brien, 64, of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania died Saturday, May 30, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Monroe in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He was the loving husband of Eileen O’Brien with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late Robert and Joan O’Brien.
George was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville. He worked in maintenance at Windham Destinations. George was a dedicated family man. Earlier in life, he held multiple jobs to ensure that his family was well taken care of. Always smiling and loving life, he would easily start conversations with anyone he came across, talking as if they were long-time friends. George was incredibly proud of his twin boys with whom he shared a birthday, always letting people know that they were the greatest birthday present he had ever received and celebrating every one of their accomplishments. Anytime anyone; family, friend, or stranger, needed advice, he was there to help. He always knew what to do and what not to do. He enjoyed working with his hands and fixing things, and teaching others what he knew. Overall, he adored his family; a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The best time spent was with his family. He enjoyed riding ATVs with his grandchildren, motorcycles with his boys, barbecues with family, he was truly and all-around great man. If you knew George, you were truly blessed.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: David O’Brien and his wife, Andrea; Stephen O’Brien and his fiancé, Katlyn King; grandchildren: Kaiden Michael; Stephen Liam; Skylar Brielle; Caleb Cruz; brother: Robert O’Brien and his wife, Jean, of Long Island, NY; and many dear friends.
