" A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend," Florence Virginia Herring, passed away on Wednesday April 7th, 2021. She devoted her life to her loving husband Wilson Herring Jr. and their family. Florence was born in Macon, GA on January 31, 1944. Her love of baseball, specifically the Mets, stemmed from the quality time that she spent with her father Oscar Clyde watching them play. She attributed her extraordinary mothering qualities to her mother Mamie Clyde. Her nurturing spirit led her to the work of fostering children.
Florence was a true woman of God. Through her faith in him, she overcame many hurdles. Florence never missed an opportunity to share her experiences and lessons with her family and friends. Her love knew no limits. She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two brothers, Charles “Bud” Clyde, and James Clyde, three sister-in-laws Mary Venable, Mary Clyde and Grail Clyde as well as her brother in law Joseph Moody. She is sorely missed by her cherished husband; 14 children, Diane Clyde, Wanda Clyde-Colon, Danny Clyde, Petula Clyde, Sharone Herring, Trina Prather, Angelique Bryant, Early Dugger, Timothy Dugger, Wilson Herring III, Tamisha Bennett, Kevin Herring, Terrence Herring, and Latoya Herring; 3 daughters in law, 5 sons in law, 29 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Florence leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11am at the Joseph J Pula Funeral Home, Inc 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360. The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of services.
