Ernest R. Leap

    Ernest Richard Leap 71, of East Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Friday June 14, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer, putting up a courageous fight all the way up to the end. He was the beloved husband of Brenda Fenner Leap with whom he had celebrated 51 years of marriage.

  Born in E. Stroudsburg, Pa. he was the son of the late Raymond and Florence (Snyder) Leap. Ernie was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School class of 1970. He spent 20 years as manager at Pat & Red’s Tire Store in E. Stroudsburg. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and trips to Atlantic City. He also loved reading, watching NASCAR races, traveling to the beach, and cooking, especially grilling in the summertime. He loved to entertain and welcomed anyone into hie home. He was a heart transplant recipient and very grateful to his donor for giving him many additional years of life. Above all he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren he will be missed by all.

  In addition to his wife Brenda he is survived by his children: Jason Leap and his wife Stephanie of E. Stroudsburg, Pa., Justine Groves and her husband Benjamin of Pen Argyl, Pa. and Joshua Leap and his wife Erika of Pinehurst, N.C., grandchildren: Emma Leap, Wesley Leap, Isabella Groves, Benjamin Groves, Austin Leap and Carson Leap, brothers: Raymond Leap and Gary Leap, sister in law Roberta Marvin and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernie was preceded in death by in-laws Woodrow and Josephine Fenner and sister-in-law, Gloria Bartges.

   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2024 at 1:30pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. with Rev. Margie Good officiating. Cremation will follow the services. The family will receive friends from 12:00noon until the time of the services at the funeral home.
