Edward "Red" Townley 82 of East Stroudsburg, Pa. passed away on Tuesday Oct. 19, 2021. He was the loving husband of Beverly (Davis) Townley with whom he had celebrated 60 years of marriage. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey he was the son of the late John and Frances (VanNest) Townley.
Edward graduated from Plainfield High School and he raised his family in Manville, N.J. prior to moving to the East Stroudsburg area in 2008. He honorably served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Decatur. Edward worked as a skilled custom cabinet maker all of his life. He also used his talents to make cherished handmade wooden gifts for his loving family.
Edward's main passion was spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed being with his family for their annual vacation in OCMD. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and rooting for the Minnesota Vikings.
In addition to his wife Beverly, he is survived by his children: Debbie Cederberg (Gary), Colleen Townley (Mike), Shelly Chandler (Keith) and Sean Townley, 8 grandchildren: Ashley (Justin), Ryan, Katelyn (Tyler), Chad (Kianna), Madison, Sydney, Devon, and Brayden, and 2 great grandchildren: Gavin and Finley.
Private family viewing will be held on Saturday Oct 23rd from 2-3:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th.St.Stroudsburg, Pa. 18360 followed by prayer service starting at 3:00 pm with Pastor Margie Good officiating. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite charity in Ed's memory.
