Edward T. Simms

Edward T. Simms, 79, of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday January 29, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary A. (Whitfield) Simms with whom he had celebrated 49 years of togetherness.

Born in Nassau, Bahamas he was the son of Edward T. and Madge (Bowe) Simms. Edward was residing in the East Stroudsburg area for the past 28 years and prior to that in the New York City area. Edward was employed as a truck driver for various businesses throughout the country for many years. He was of the catholic faith, and he was an army veteran having served during the Vietnam war.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his children: Eric T. Simms, Brandon T. Simms, Courtney E. Simms and husband Jonathan Raby, Kevin T. Simms and husband Andres Coto and Derrick T. Simms, along with 3 grandchildren: Aniya, N’Yera, and Malia.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025, at 12:00 noon at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N 9thSt. Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home.
