Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend
May 5, 1940 – December 19, 2025
With deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Edward George Pick, 85, of East Stroudsburg, PA. He was the loving husband of SallyAnn (Pisciotto) Pick with whom he had celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Edward was a proud and caring father to his six children and a cherished grandfather whose warmth and humor brought joy to everyone around him. Born in Queens, New York, Edward started his career in the United States Coast Guard where he worked on the Coast Guard Cutter Courier serving the Voice of America in Greece during the Cold War. While serving in the Coast Guard Reserves, he was promoted to Lt. Commander. Edward then became a Marine Engineer in the New York Fire Department working on the Fireboat John D. McKean. Edward was particularly proud of devising an innovative system which utilized the original fireboat hose system to spray spectacular streams of red, white, and blue water into the New York Harbor, which was first seen during the July 4, 1976 Operation Sail celebration. Later in life, Edward was the owner of Krystal Mirror and co-owner of Flair Home Center, both in Dingman’s Ferry, PA for many years.
A man of quiet strength and kindness, Edward lived a life rooted in faith, hard work, and generosity. He enjoyed simple pleasures – fishing, billiards, woodworking, and sharing stories with friends. His smile and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, his children, and their spouses, his adored grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Amelia (Hubner) Pick, and his brother, Howard Pick.
We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time. Please keep Edward and his family in your prayers. If you would like to honor Edward’s Memory, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. This organization was Edward’s favorite charity that he supported.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:30am at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9 North 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of service at the church. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Czestochowa Mausoleum Doylestown, PA. Luncheon will follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
