Edgardo R. Lopez

Edgardo Lopez, 64, of Stroudsburg, PA, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. He was the loving husband of Sheila Nannette (née Leduna) Lopez with whom he shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Iloilo City, Philippines, he was the son of the late Tiburcio and Estrella (née Ragde) Lopez.

Edgardo held a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and was a Registered Nurse in the Philippines. Aside from that, he held a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He and his wife came to the United States in 2005, where he then worked as a nurse at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Bronx Gardens Nursing Home and Gouverneur Nursing Home in New York City. He enjoyed his work and everyone he cared for. Edgardo was a fun-loving gentleman, loved to joke and was always the life of the party. He was an avid social media user and never hesitated to post his selfies. He also appreciated food, especially hot pot. He cherished all who he came in contact with and was especially fond of his nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his siblings: Elna, Elsa, Edwin, Ely and Estela, nieces and nephews, in-laws and many dear friends and co-workers.

There will be a viewing on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:45 am at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 North 9th Street, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania 18360 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm at the Church of St. Luke, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with Father Michael Quinnan presiding.  Private cremation will follow.
