Obituary

Dorothy Page Taylor was born on January 20th, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA. On April 12th, 2023, God called Dorothy Page Taylor home, to eternal rest. Her parents were Haywood and Annie Pageand her only child was Richard Taylor. All three preceded Dorothy in transitioning.

Dorothy attended McGrady Junior High School and Rankin High School where she received her diploma and her GED. During Dorothy’s career, she worked for Western Psychiatric Dietary Division. She also was a Pharmaceutical Assistant, and a private cook for MR. ROGERS. Dorothy attended Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rankin, PA.

Dorothy loved and lived life to the fullest, 95 blessed years. There are too many memories and stories for a short scribe. However, she did everything with a flare. Dorothy traveled regularly and enjoyed entertaining. Women that know her can say, “Dorothy (Nan) made me a better woman.” and her best girl friends would say she was a spit fire, sassy and ready to fight. As an avid sports fan, Dorothy loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. She attended games in roaming RVs. Dorothy watched baseball and basketball as well. Watching her cheer was infectious.

Some of Dorothy’s major hobbies were CROSSWORD PUZZLES, reading and pronouncing words. In her later days, she read your tee shirt. When she lost her eyesight, it took a big part of life away. However, Dorothy quickly adjusted. She did not complain about the change. She still laughed and fussed. You knew she was feeling good then. She loved talking about her family and recanting names were a past-time as well. She ALWAYS said, “Thank You” when tended to, a fun and wonderful spirit.

Dorothy has 5 grandchildren: 1. Tina and husband Tony Macon. Their children Shyrod Taylor,Vance Degroat, Rena Dagroat. 2. Kadejea Taylor. Her children Paris Wilmott, Marc Howard, Torrian Howard, Josiah Lattimore. 3. Monique Taylor Darden husband Antoine Darden.Their child Teyana Taylor. 4. Lolade Taylor. Her children Inara S. and Indigo D. Martinez. 5.Dorothy Perkins and husband Tony. Their children Richard A., Lauryn M., Langston E., and Hudson J. Perkins.
