Dominic “Sunny” Sorrenti, 46, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, died Friday, September 1, 2023. He was the loving husband of Christina (Weisbach) Sorrenti with whom he would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on September 19. His father delivered him on their property in Snydersville, where he was given the middle name “Sunshine” when his father walked outside afterwards and spotted the sun.
Sunny attended Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from Stroudsburg High School. He started his own plumbing & heating business in 2001 which he operated along with his wife. Later, his sons learned the trade from him and have been proudly working beside him for the past several years. In 2006 he completed the home he built for his family. He had a hand in and took part in every aspect of the building process.
Sunny was passionate about everything he did in life. He loved to spend his spare time fishing in streams, deep sea fishing, fly fishing, and was an avid hunter in his earlier years. He also loved to play golf, Target shoot, snorkel; anything that seemed like an adventure, he was always up for trying.
Sunny deeply loved his family and his many friends. He was strong, caring, loving, dependable, trustworthy, loyal, resilient and someone you were proud to know and have by your side. He loved talking to everyone and really getting to know them beneath the surface and building lifetime bonds with those he knew. He was someone his friends considered a brother. He was always proud to have been a part of his family’s winery while growing up. Sunny was never short of memories to share about working hard picking grapes, working the machines, and bottling wine with his father and brother. He also helped at their pizzeria, where he was just as meticulous as he was with everything he did. His pizzas were his pride and joy during that time. As much as Sunny loved- he was truly loved back. He was a good man, a good husband, a good father and provider for his family. They never went without anything no matter what. His wife and children absolutely admired, loved, adored and needed him in every way. His absence will be felt for the rest of their lives.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his children Christopher, Daniel, and Meadow; his sister Elysia Manda (Sorrenti), her husband Joseph Manda, and children Elizabeth, Emily, and Joseph Dominic; sister-in-law Karen Sorrenti and children Mason, Nicholas, Garret, Satchel, Bella and Evelyn; sister Lucia Sorrenti; half brother Frank Sorrenti and his wife Jennifer and children Damien, and Andrew; half brother Tony Sorrenti and children Brittany and
Dominic. He was preceded in death by his father Dominic Sorrenti, brother Nicholas Sorrenti, and half brother Dominic Jr. Sorrenti.
